There are no reliable records of grizzlies occurring in Nevada according to Hall (1946). Tales of a bear in the El Dorado mountains and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon are not plausible, and the White Mountains of Nevada and southeastern Califormia are too arid or isolated for grizzlies (Brown, 1985).
