Manitoba

Grizzlies were historically found in Saskatchewan and Manitoba in portions of three biogeoclimatic zones ("grizzly bear zones" Banci et. al. 1994): the Glaciated Prairies, Non-Mountainous Boreal Plains, and the Taiga Shield. They have been extirpated from all of Manitoba except in the far north where some remain in the southernmost extent of the Taiga Shield.

In Gary Brown's "Great Bear Atlas" he reports approximately 1825 grizzlies for Manitoba (Brown 1993).
