Charlie has published two books in collaboration with photographer Thomas Mangelsen and a book on the Grand Canyon with artist John Dawson. He has written narration for several natural history television programs. He is currently working on another book with John Dawson on the Northern California coast and finishing a book on Wyoming's wildlife with the Grand Teton Natural History Society. He is also co-producer and director of photography for the Mardy Murie Film Project, and is curator of the Thomas Mangelsen Exhibit on biodiversity which is on tour at Natural History Museums across the country.

Charlie is currently hoping to raise funding to purchase a new computer and a scanner in order to archive Mardy and Olaus Murie's writings, art work and field notes in digital format.
