Charles Stevens
Craighead
Charlie
has worked in a variety of media with wildlife as a primary focus. He
has filmed and assisted on a number of films with Wolfgang Bayer
Productions, the BBC, Nature, PBS, and others. He has authored several
books including “Living with Wildlife on Private
Land” and is currently working on other books and developing
film ideas for CERI projects. He is a graduate of Utah State University
with a B.Sc. in Wildlife Management.
John
is a renowned international wildlife artist, specializing in large oil
paintings of animals from around the world. He studied art and zoology
at the University of Montana and holds a degree from the Art Institute
of Seattle in Visual Communication. He has been featured in national
publications including; Africa Geographic, the Artist’s
Magazine, Wildlife Art, Big Sky Journal and the African Sporting
Gazette. John and his work have been featured on television including
the Outdoor Channel, PBS, and Outdoor Life Network.
Yvonne
is a science writer and regularly writes articles for Science, Natural
History, Science News, the Atlantic Monthly, Discover, and other
magazines and has written several books including “The Work
of Nature: How the Diversity of Life Sustains Us” and
“A Plague of Rats and Rubbervines: The Growing Threat Of
Species Invasions”.
Susan
teaches Wildlife Ecology and Policy Science at Yale University School
of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She has developed a curriculum
in Conservation Biology and is also interested in natural resource
policy and management. The foci of her research and policy analysis
efforts are the Northern Rockies of the U.S., endangered mammals of
Australia, and conservation policy in Central America.
Alan is
a freelance writer who has published nine books and
hundreds
of magazine articles. His stories
have appeared in Audubon,
Montana
Quarterly, Nature, Canoe &
Kayak, Backpacker, Outside, Men's Journal, and his books include The
Wilderness
Paddler’s Handbook and Threading the Currents:
A
Paddler’s Passion for Water. Alan splits his time between
teaching (Montana
State
University,
Yellowstone Association) and writing.
Kent
Madin
Kent
is the Vice-President and Director of Boojum Expeditions, Inc. and
Honorary Consul of Mongolia for MT, ID and WY. He is the
founder of the the Boojum Charitable Fund, a nonprofit supporting
social projects in Mongolia. He also serves on the board of
the Montana Center for International Visitors.
Eldon
J. Spencer,
Jr.
Eldon
is an attorney in the law firm of Leonard, O'Brien, Wilford, Spencer,
and Gale in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Harvard Law
School (Magna Cum Laude) in 1971. One of his major areas of interest
and expertise is environmental law. He is also an Adjunct Professor of
Law at the Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul.
Since
retiring as Executive Officer of his firm, Wealth
Strategies NW, Tad has founded Oregon Trout, a non-profit wild fish
advocacy
organization and served on the board of the Henry’s Fork
Foundation.
He also helped
establish Island Park
Advocates for Responsible Development, and initiated Fremont Growth
Solutions;
a community based educational initiative focusing on the problems and
opportunities of rapid growth in rural areas. His
career
experience in leadership, business development and marketing
has been the focus of his conservation work.
Tony
Thompson
Tony
is a conservation biologist who operates his family’s Willow
Lake Farm in Windom, Minnesota where he raises corn and soybeans, and
manages a large expanse (250 acres) of native prairie for seed harvest.
He also oversees a practical, farm-based program for the Minnesota
Institute for Sustainable Agriculture at the University of Minnesota in
sustainable agriculture and actively works to preserve wildlife habitat
and movement corridors in his region.
