Upper
Madison/Taylor's Fork Project
Taylor's
Fork objectives
- Develop a
landscape-scale (30m2 grid) least-cost-path model of core
and movement habitat for a study area encompassing the upper
Madison and Gallatin valleys centered on the Taylor's Fork
and Bacon Rind drainages.
- Overlay the
results of this static habitat model with detailed grizzly bear
location data and known movement routes (between 3.5-hour locations)
in collaboration with the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team.
- Statistically
analyze the correlation between predicted and observed habitat
use and the accuracy of the least-cost-path models.
- Refine the
models, if possible, to better fit the location data.
