Crowsnest
Pass Project
Crowsnest Pass
objectives
- Develop a
landscape-scale (30m2 grid) least-cost-path model of core
and movement habitat for a study area encompassing a portion
of Canadian Highway 3 centered on Crowsnest Pass.
- Overlay the
results of this model with results of another static habitat
model developed in collaboration by the Interagency Grizzly Bear
Committee, Aspen Consulting, and the Wildlife Conservation Society
(the riparian-based linkage zone model).
- Statistically
analyze the correlation between the least-cost-path model and
the disturbance-based linkage habitat model. Infer correlation
and accuracy of the riparian-based linkage zone model with observed
habitat use if possible (acknowledging that the observed data
are from a different ecosystem).
